Doctor

Well, Rece had his 2 year check up today. In the last 6 months he has gained about 3 lbs. and 2 1/2 in. He is growing great. Still right around 50th percentile. He is now a big boy and gets weighed and measured on the big scale! We was feeling pretty crummy this morning so he wasn't thrilled about being there. But the doctor was happy with the progress. He does have a croup cough and the beginning signs of an ear infection. The doctor said that they usually wait to give medicine because chances are since he hasn't had ear problems that it won't turn into an ear infection. But, since I am going to go into labor any minute he went ahead and gave us a prescription. So hopefully this whole house will feel better before the baby arrives. And Rece has an opinion on what I am having. He thinks girl. If we ask him what we are having, girl or boy, he says girl everytime. It doesn't even matter what order we say it in. It is cute!

18 Months

Today Rece had his 18 month appointment today. It went pretty well. He is between 50th and 75th percentile for weight and between 25th and 50th percentile for height. He got two shots and did not do great but they are the last two shots until he goes to school!!!
Milestone Questions:
Can he walk up the stairs holding someone's hand? Yes, but he prefers to crawl.
Can he throw a ball? And anything else that comes into contact with his hand.
Does he give kisses when he feels like it? Oh, yes
Does he say 4-10 words on a consistent basis? Uh, no. But he signs that many.
The doctor says that the word thing is fine. They would only start to worry about language if at 2 1/2 he wasn't able to string two words together. But he was glad that he could verbalize and appears to hear fine and he is glad about the sign language, because he said at least it is some way to communicate.
So over all it went well.
I am beginning to notice a pattern. He is going to push every milestone to the point of it being very close to the deadline. The doctor said he has a granddaughter that walked late like Rece and he said she is 6 and very healthy but she just had that attitude like, I don't need to do any of this and she didn't potty train until she was almost 4. I kind of figure this will be the case with Rece. He is in a hurry for nothing. Oh well, I should enjoy a laid back child right?

15 Month Appt.

Rece had his 15 month appointment today. He weighs 23 lbs. 11 oz. and is 31 in. long! He had to get two shots and he cried but it was a short cry. Next time at 18 months he will get one shot and that will be his last for 3 years!!YAY!
Milestone questions:
Is he walking? No
Can he point to his body parts when named? No
Can he say some words? YES
Can he climb up stairs? YES
Hey, 2 out of 4 isn't too bad!
He is growning great and doing well. We talked to the doctor about his eating habbits(or lack of) and grinding of teeth and all other things Rece. The doctor says he is doing fine, not to worry about anything...me worry??? And he should be walking in the next couple of months??

Today I had my 1 year doctor's appointment! It was terrible!!!!!!!!! I had to get 3 shots(polio, flu and chicken pox) and a TB test-that was the worst! But now I weigh 22 lbs and 9 oz. and am 29 in. long!! Just below the 50th percentile so I am growing good. My doctor is happy with my progress...he says I will probably be walking on my own within a couple of months!

9 Months!
So, today I had my nine month appointment! I am 19 lbs. 2 oz. and 28 1/2 in. long. For height that is about 50th percentile and for weight that is about 25th percentile. I had to get an anemia test where they prick my toe and I am such a big boy, I didn't even flinch! I also got my first flu shot. I cried for about 10 seconds and then was smiling at the nurse that did it! The doctor said I look great so no special instructions. Pictures will come later! Oh and on Friday I started doing something VERY exciting. I wave to people now!!!! Mommy was sooo excited about it. I thought what is the big deal, I am just moving my hand ; )

Cranky Boy

Today I was super grouchy and extra tired :( I didn't even want my cereal tonight. I always get like that two days after my shots. It is no fun, but the good new is that I don't have to get anymore shots until I am 1 year old!

6 Months Old

6 Months!

Today I went to the doctor for my 6 month check up! I am now 27 in. long and I weigh 17 lbs. and 5 oz. That is about the 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight! He thought it was great that I am sitting up by myself. But, I also had to get two shots. I did better than last time but still cried.

I am just getting so big. At my last doctors appointment when I was 5 months old I weighed 16 lbs. and 9 oz. And I was 26 3/4 in. tall! I am so big.
